Hi! My name is Mia. I'm an independent singer/songwriter, and the founder of creative services company Cléo's Collective. I'm also a substitute teacher, babysitter, and former teacher of online classes for kids including songwriting, storytelling, and mental wellness.

If you're a parent/guardian doing your best but needing some help to navigate your kid's passion for songwriting or ambition of becoming a pop star, you're in the right place! The logistics of being an artist can be overwhelming for anyone, but for a kid (and for their parents), I imagine the moving pieces, time commitment, and risks of having a public or online presence can be particularly daunting. Whether their work has already taken off or they're just looking to get started, my aim is not to push anyone down a particular path, but rather to join them on their journey and act as a co-navigator for barriers and forks in the road.

I've learned a lot about the music world by being immersed in it, and I love working with & for kids, so I realized supporting young people's passions or early careers in music is something I'd not only enjoy but also have the skillset to be pretty good at.

Services

Creating Music: guiding you through the process writing, recording, and/or producing original songs. This could include songwriting lessons, setting up collaborations, giving advice on getting quality recordings or working with a recording studio, hiring musicians, etc.

Releasing Music: Cléo's Collective can be your publisher and act as a record label, releasing your music on streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and more, at no upfront cost to you & requesting a negotiable percentage of streaming royalties/income. You can release your music under your name, or under an alias / band name.

Managing Merch: designing on-demand merchandise (shirts, stickers, and much more), & hosting it as a collection in our shop.

Website Creation: we can create your own website for you, and/or create a page on our site (cleos.llc/"yourname"), to organize your information/bio, portfolio, and links (music, social media, merch, etc.)

Social Media Management: setting up social media accounts, facilitating content creation and announcements, responding to comments and messages, doing my best to promptly delete/report any spam or bullying.

Livestreams: host a livestream show on a platform of your choice, including the option of my personal Instagram (@MiaStegner) where I have 19,000+ followers and my livestreams typically see an attendance of 100+, more if it's scheduled and promoted in advance. Can also be Zoom, Google Hangouts, Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, or any platform you're most comfortable with.

Promotion: I'm not a publicist, but I can facilitate social media ad campaigns, help you find a public relations company, or do a bit of networking/outreach to press (radio / magazine interviews, album reviews, etc.) with an allotted budget per song or project.

Events: booking tours, setting up livestream shows

Mentorship / Consultation: answering questions, offering encouragement, finding resources, and being supportive however I can

Pricing

Pricing is flexible & can work on a sliding scale. We have some options:

1) A weekly/monthly stipend, or an hourly wage (which we could put a cap on).

For social media management, and general mentorship / consulting.

2) Fixed prices per project

For songwriting lessons, designing merch, and for music production tasks including but not limited to creating backing tracks, hiring session musicians, mixing/mastering, or running press outreach campaigns. The steps of creating and releasing a song from start to finish can vary widely depending on your goals and ideas, and costs will fluctuate along with it.

3) Commission-based

For situations where the goal or expectation is to generate income - booking tours, promoting shows, selling merch, releasing music.

Getting Started

In the coming months, I'm hoping to build a roster of a starting maximum of three artists, around the ages of 7-14 years old. If you think your kid might love to be part of that, they can apply by sending over some music ideas & a brief cover letter and/or video introduction to mia@cleos.llc. :) I'm looking forward to hearing from you! If I feel I'd be a good fit and can commit to supporting your ideas and goals, I'll send over any questions I have to both the artist & their family/guardian. From there, we'll prioritize our goals, and based on your vision and your budget, I'll come up with an outline for what our artist/manager relationship might look like. If and when we're on the same page about how to move forward, we'll sign a contract for a payment plan, rights to the music (your kid keeps all of it), and other details.
